A home visit does not require your home to resemble a magazine photograph. You do not need new towels, matching candles or a room dedicated to wellness. The aim is a practical space where agreed bodywork can take place comfortably, with the details discussed before the visit.

Confirm the essentials first

Ask what equipment will be brought, what surface is planned and how much clear floor space is needed. Do not assume a bed, futon or massage table will be used. Access matters too: stairs, a narrow entrance or limited lift space may affect arrangements. A short practical description is more helpful than apologising for the size of your home.

Choose comfort over atmosphere

Consider whether the room can be warm enough, whether you can adjust the light and whether privacy is realistic at that time. You may prefer daylight to candles or no fragrance at all. These are useful preferences. A strong scent or elaborate setup is not a requirement for a thoughtful session.

Leave the rest of the house alone

You only need to discuss the areas relevant to the visit. There is no reason to tidy every cupboard or present a particular version of yourself as a host. If preparing the room starts to feel like another demanding project, return to the basics: access, space, privacy and comfort. Any specific equipment needs should be agreed together, rather than left for you to guess.
